Enjoy a lovely August weekend in Berkshire, meeting fellow club members. It’s going to be rather different this year.
Saturday
We shall be spending Saturday watching the ’sport of kings’ – polo – at Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park. We shall have our own parking area for the E-type Club, so a great opportunity for meeting other members, whilst watching some superb polo as well. We shall be watching the semi-finals of the Duke of Wellington Trophy with 6-12 goal polo, which is an intermediate level.
Bring a picnic and make yourself comfortable…
Gates open at 11am and the match starts at 3pm. There will be four chukkas and the match will finish at about 4-4.15pm.
There is no catering or bar on site, so you will need to bring picnics and drinks – in fact everything you wish to consume whilst at Guards.
There will be champagne – kindly and generously supplied by SNG Barratt.

Saturday Evening
For the evening dinner we have a wonderful boat cruise on the River Thames, departing from Runnymede and sailing to Windsor and back. The boat will depart at 7pm prompt and return at 11pm. The cars will be locked into the car park whilst we are on the river.
You will be welcomed onto the boat with a glass of bucks fizz. There will be a delicious barbecue with steak, chops, sausages, salads, jacket potatoes etc, followed by a selection of puddings. This is accompanied by half a bottle of wine per person as well. There will be a cash bar for extra drinks.
The Sunday Scenic Run:
Sunday is the day for putting your E-type through its paces on our exhilarating scenic run. This year we will explore the highways and byways of the Thames Valley. The exact route is still under-wraps but it is sure not to disappoint.
Entry is £25 per car, and includes a coffee stop midway. This scenic morning run will finish at a local hostelry, with an optional lunch (not included). The afternoon is then free for you to wend your way home through the stunning scenery.
